Helene B. Raisman

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Miami in 1982 and she graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1985. While in law school, Helene served as law clerk to the Honorable Circuit Court Judge Michael Salmon, Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. She also completed a legal internship at the Dade County State Attorney's Office where she was assigned to the DUI division. Following her internship, Helene began her legal career as a DUI defense attorney working at Essen & Essen.
Helene was head of the Broward trial division at the law firm of Essen & Essen from 1985 until 1990 where she was responsible for defending thousands of clients charged with DUI. As lead attorney, she successfully tried hundreds of DUI trials and she won hundreds of driver's license hearings enabling her clients to retain their driving privileges.
In 1990, Helene started her own criminal defense trial practice devoted to vigorously representing clients charged with DUI. Her aggressive and thorough style of advocacy has enabled her to win hundreds of DUI trials and has led to the suppression of evidence resulting in the dismissal of DUI charges for her clients.
In addition to being recognized as an outstanding DUI trial attorney, Helene is also an experienced appellate lawyer. She has written and successfully argued several innovative motions challenging the administration of breath testing which resulted in countless dismissals of her clients DUI cases. Helene has argued DUI appeals before the Third District Court of Appeals in Dade County, Florida and the Fourth District Court of Appeals in Broward County, Florida.

In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Helene is also admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Steven Raisman

Board Certification is a program developed by the Florida Bar to assist the public in identifying and evaluating the credentials of lawyers. Steven is one of a select few criminal lawyers practicing in Dade and Broward Counties who has achieved this high level of competence and expertise which permits him to distinguish himself as a specialist in the field of criminal trial law. Steven has zealously and successfully represented thousands of people charged with DUI. Not only does he have a winning DUI trial record, he has had hundreds of cases dismissed before trial by challenging the admissibility of evidence obtained through illegal stops, improper searches, police misconduct, the destruction of evidence and other violations of his clients constitutional rights.
After graduating from the University of Miami, Steven attended Nova Southeastern School of Law. Upon graduating law school, he practiced as an Assistant Public Defender. Steven was assigned to the County Court Division where he developed his expertise in representing people charged with DUI and tried hundreds of cases. He was quickly promoted to the Felony Division where he successfully defended clients charged with serious alcohol related offenses including DUI manslaughter, DUI with serious bodily injury, felony DUI, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with death.
After eight years as a Public Defender, Steven brought his thorough and creative approach to DUI practice to Raisman & Raisman, P.A. a firm focusing on DUI defense. He zealously advocates for his clients rights and continues to be highly successful at trial and in litigating pre-trial motions attacking the DUI case.
Steven is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
